Khempalung Shivadhara is one of the most popular religious places of the district. It is located in Mt. Makalu VDC ward no 5. The site is a large cave where a magnificent waterfall flows from the centre of the cave. According to ancient tales, this was the place where Lord Shiva and Parbati played and travelled. The place is about 6 days trekking from the district headquarter, Khandbari. The famous religious festival is arranged on Janai Purnima. Many devotees visit the place.
